What are Pot Odds?
The word odds can be used interchangeably with the word probability. To calculate pot odds you need to know the pot size and your bet amount to calculate whether your hand is profitable or not.
What are Outs?
Outs are the unexposed cards in the deck which make your hand win. You need to total your outs after the flop and the turn to calculate your poker odds.
What are Poker Odds
Poker odds is the calculation used to find out your chances of winning out of 100. To work out the formula you need to know your outs multiply by 4 if its after the flop and multiply by 2 if its after the turn. This will give you an approximate calculation of Poker Odds.
The 2 and 4 Rule
Formula for Poker Odds after the Flop – Outs x 4 = Poker Odds
Formula for Poker Odds after the Turn – Outs x 2 = Poker Odds
Lets work out the poker odds in the example below, keeping in mind that there are 52 cards in the deck. The deck is made up of 4 different suits with 13 cards in each suit.
The Flop is:

The players in the hand are GDP Chick vs Opponent and they are dealt the following hole cards.

So to summarise, pot odds is the calculation you use to check whether making a call is valuable or not.
Poker odds on the other hand is calculating your chances of winning the hand. The less outcomes you have to win, the less chances that the event can happen therefore if your poker odds are low you should withdraw from the hand.
I hope you found this post useful, once you get used to working out the above before playing a hand, then you can say that you learnt how to play ABC poker and can move on to playing many tables simultaneously.
